There are millions of men and women who have fought in wars all over the world. They put their lives on the line everyday to protect the people back home. What some people don't realize when their country is at war, is that the people they are fighting against have people who love them; even if to the world they might just be one person. For every one person that dies in war, dozens of people are affected. For example, all the citizens of the U.S. want to win against Afghanistan to protect their country, but all the citizens of Afghanistan want to win against the U.S. to protect their country. What if we all just stop shooting, lay down the guns and back away? We only fight because people before us fought, but if we break that, we could all be safe and not constantly worry about someone we love dying.
I'm sorry to all of you who have gone through this. I don`t know anyone who is at war so I don't know how hard it actually is; I can`t even imagine. I live in Canada and have seen on TV the times where our troops come home. It is the happiest thing I have ever seen. Watching all those families waiting for their loved one to walk through the door and when they do, well, words can`t even describe how they must feel.
THANK YOU to those who have fought for their country. No matter where you’re from, thank you. Your loved ones want you to be safe and want you to know that you mean the world to them.
Try your very hardest to make peace and when your next birthday comes, wish, and truly mean it, for world peace, because the 7 billion people in the world will thank you for it.
