Help the Sometimes Forgotten

A child waiting to be sponsored.
It makes me so me feel like the most horrible person ever when I think that I'm on the computer in my warm house and someone out there is freezing, or dieing of hunger, a disease, unclean water or lack of shelter: and I'm not doing one thing about it. I have had two sponsor childs through Compassion Canada and now their lives are saved, but there is MUCH more I can do; that everyone can do. We can stop and talk to the homeless man on the street, give him some help and a smile and he could be good for life. We can give our time. We can serve at the soup kitchen or take care of little ones when their parents are working. We can donate to the local homeless shelter or to one like Compassion Canada who helps people all over the world.
If you have some extra cash I would encourage you to sponsor a child. It is amazing what a couple bucks can do. Like Carrie Underwood said, "For a dime a day you could save a life." That child will be even happier than we can imagine when they know they have someone who cares for them.
If you are interested and want to look into this more, here is the link for the Compassion Canada website:

There are children who have been waiting over a year to be sponsored, but you can change that. Even though I would be scared to just go up and talk to someone on the street, I know that I woudln't be alone. God would be there with me every step of the way and I could show that person care and Jesus's love. Please help me try and make a difference, trust me, it will change YOUR life.
God Bless <3

Saving A Life

Have you known or heard of anyone who has committed suicide? I bet at least 99% of the world has. Over 1,000,000 people commit suicide every year. And there are about 10 to 20 million attempts around the world yearly. Usually depression, alcohol, drugs and the feeling of not mattering are what causes suicide. If you or you know someone who is struggling with any of this, please go talk to someone you trust and who you know can help. This is a scary thing to be a part of and no one should feel like they need kill themselves to make things better.

YOU MATTER

You matter. You matter. You matter. You matter. You matter.
And I'm not just saying that, it's true. YOU matter.

Here is something from Wikipedia that I found;

Cigarette smoking

There have been various studies done showing a positive link between smoking, suicidal ideation and suicide attempts. In a study conducted among nurses, those smoking between 1-24 cigarettes per day had twice the suicide risk; 25 cigarettes or more, 4 times the suicide risk, than those who had never smoked. In a study of 300,000 male U.S. Army soldiers, a definitive link between suicide and smoking was observed with those smoking over a pack a day having twice the suicide rate of non-smokers.

If you haven't seen the movie 'To Save a Life' directed by Brian Baugh, I really suggest you should. It is an amazing movie that changed my life.
We were shown it at our school and many people were affected by it, but in a good way, and I know you will be too. So if you can, please check it out, you could save a life.

Keeping Our Country Safe - Thank You

There are millions of men and women who have fought in wars all over the world. They put their lives on the line everyday to protect the people back home. What some people don't realize when their country is at war, is that the people they are fighting against have people who love them; even if to the world they might just be one person. For every one person that dies in war, dozens of people are affected. For example, all the citizens of the U.S. want to win against Afghanistan to protect their country, but all the citizens of Afghanistan want to win against the U.S. to protect their country. What if we all just stop shooting, lay down the guns and back away? We only fight because people before us fought, but if we break that, we could all be safe and not constantly worry about someone we love dying.

I'm sorry to all of you who have gone through this. I don`t know anyone who is at war so I don't know how hard it actually is; I can`t even imagine. I live in Canada and have seen on TV the times where our troops come home. It is the happiest thing I have ever seen. Watching all those families waiting for their loved one to walk through the door and when they do, well, words can`t even describe how they must feel.

THANK YOU to those who have fought for their country. No matter where you’re from, thank you. Your loved ones want you to be safe and want you to know that you mean the world to them.

Try your very hardest to make peace and when your next birthday comes, wish, and truly mean it, for world peace, because the 7 billion people in the world will thank you for it.

The Oil Spill - Don't Just Watch It

Ever catch yourself saying, "Isn't that oil spill gonna go away?" Well, it isn't. Not by itself anyways. How awesome would it be if people from all over came together to help get rid of it? It would be incredible.

All the animals, plants and organisms caught in the middle of this are the ones who didn't do anything to start it. They were there having a great time living normally, but now they are all struggling to survive in their very own home filled with oil. Some of the animals in the water have to breath in/drink it and we ALL have to do something to save them before some of the species become extinct.

And I know that we can't just all fly down to the Gulf of Mexico to help. We might want to, but we can't. :) What we can do is keep recycling, trying to use less water, planting trees, picking up garbage, etc. It may not seem like much, but it makes a HUGE difference in the long run.

We were only given one planet, let's not destroy it. :)

We can't just sit back. We have to stand up, use our voice, and do something.
